Or so goes the end of chorus bit thing to Chimaira's "Army Of Me".
Though obviously written about the world in general, this could definetly apply to more than a few things in our lives, though I'm only actually going to speak about one for the time being.
Politics. And not the kinda that rule corporate America either, no, I mean general politics, be they in the schools, the workplace etc.
One thing that really has been bugging me as of late is the quick judgment of people based on circumstance you really don't know much about. The slander and such I understand, I mean, just about everyone will try to make someone else look worse so they can look better, this is because 90% of humanity are assholes, and this is a fact of life.
But this is a whole other matter, for example, when someone calls someone else say a slut, they automatically get the reputation. The interesting thing about this is usually this type of thing is based on some instance the person giving the rep. doesn't really know more than one side of. For example, using the slut thing, let's say the person slept with someone who most people didn't even know they knew. Well the people assume she must have just met him and then slept with him, therefore making her loose, when actually she could have known him for years. This is just an example of course, but I really don't understand this - I mean, are we really so petty that we have nothing to talk about but others?
Its pretty sad really. Whatever happened to doing what you want and just handling the reprecussions yourself? I mean you want to be a slut, well its your choice just don't run to me when you get STDs. Some of you may be wondering why I prefer that example, well , it's something many people understand - I mean everyone knows at least one person who's been called a slut in the past.
Well anyway, thanks for reading, hope I provoked some thinking here.
